Frequently asked questions
Where do I find my current Map Pack click-through rate?
Open the performance report in your Google Business Profile, add up calls, direction requests and website clicks for the period, and divide by search views. That gives a workable CTR for the listing as a whole, which you can refine per keyword group if your rank tracker connects to Search Console.
Why does the tool ask for a target CTR instead of a target position?
Click-through rate by position varies a lot by category, city and how the Map Pack is displayed on the device. Publishing one fixed CTR curve would be guessing on your behalf, so the tool asks you to enter the rate you observe or expect and shows its work.
Should I use search volume from a keyword research tool?
You can, but treat it as an upper bound. Keyword tools usually report metro-wide or national volume, and only a portion of those searches trigger a Map Pack in your neighborhood. Search views from your Business Profile are closer to reality.
